Power & Performance

The VW ID. Buzz comes with a 91-kWh battery that gives this vehicle a solid amount of power. The power that the battery generates depends on whether the model it inhabits has RWD or 4MOTOR AWD. The RWD models generate 282 horsepower and have an EPA-estimated range of 234 miles before they need to be recharged. The 4MOTOR AWD models generate 335 horsepower and have an EPA-estimated range of 231 miles.

Exterior & Interior Design

The ID. Buzz’s exterior has been designed to look a lot like its 1960s predecessor, complete with the oversized VW logo and iconic V-shaped hood. It also features modernized interpretations of classic concepts, such as short overhangs that minimize the vehicle’s footprint. Meanwhile, its unique shape generates very low amounts of wind resistance, with a drag coefficient of 0.29.

It also comes in many two-tone exterior colors, with Candy White on top and options for Pomelo Yellow, Charcoal Blue, Energetic Orange, Cabana Blue, Mahi Green, Metro Silver, or Indium Grey below. There’s also a two-tone option with Metro Silver on top and Cherry Red below, and there will be three single-tone colors: Metro Silver, Candy White, and Deep Black Pearl.

While the exterior has lots of retro influences, the interior is quite modern. It has three available interior colors: the light, coastal-inspired Dune; the dark, moody Moonlight; and the midcentury modern Copper. It’s also stunningly spacious—for example, it has an industry-leading amount of third-row legroom and more than 160 cubic feet of passenger space. And if you remove the third-row seats and fold down the second row, you get 145.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

Technology

The ID. Buzz has a lot of great technology features that keep you safe, informed, and entertained throughout all your driving.

For the driver, it has a 5.3-inch ID. Cockpit, which is a digital display that completely replaces the traditional instrument cluster. It’s attached to the steering column, so it’s always in the driver’s line of sight, so they have access to driving, state of charge, and range data, along with any navigation being used at any given time. For the driver and the front-seat passenger, there’s the 12.9-inch central infotainment display, which displays all driver assistance systems, entertainment, and telematics. It also has illuminated touch sliders for volume and temperature control, giving it a neat old-school touch.
